February 16, 2008 the Memphis Barbecue Network is putting on the Inaugural "Que" Ball where the top Memphis Style Cooking Teams of 2007 will be honored. But it is also a really fun time to mingle with BBQ enthusiasts, judges, cooking teams and contest organizers. The event starts at 7:00 P.M. until 11:00 at the Holiday Inn Express at Poplar and I-240 in Memphis Tn.
The cost is $30 then $20 for a spouse or guest.
To go along with the "Que" Ball, there will be a judges Seminar on Saturday 0730 - 1:00 p.m. at a cost of $60.00. If you are interested in cooking competitive BBQ, interested in becoming a judge, or just want to be "in the know" I recommend you take the class as it brings a world of understanding to the whole process.
There will also be an organizers workshop available from 1:30 - 4:30 for a nominal fee of $10 should you be interested in hosting a MBN BBQ contest.
I encourage all Optimus Swine BBQ Team members to participate if feasible, we can make a party among ourselves. It is a great opportunity for us to give and show support for the new organization and to network and just plain olé have fun.
